JetBlue Starts Fort Lauderdale Flights; Puerto Rico Service to Begin in November
Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport today celebrated the arrival of JetBlue Airways with the launch of its inaugural flight, providing travelers with new nonstop access to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Airport officials and airline representatives marked the milestone with a gate celebration before passengers boarded the first departure.

We look forward to working with JetBlue as it grows its service and provides customers with more travel choices.”
The new service from JetBlue further strengthens BWI Marshall Airport’s role as a key transportation gateway and economic development engine for the State of Maryland and the National Capital region. With three flights per day between BWI Marshall and Fort Lauderdale, the new route will also provide passengers with convenient connections throughout the JetBlue network. The airline will add service between BWI Marshall and San Juan, Puerto Rico beginning November 2, 2026. JetBlue will utilize A320 aircraft on its new BWI Marshall routes.
BWI Marshall Airport serves as a vital travel hub, connecting travelers to destinations around the globe. The airport offers approximately 300 daily nonstop departures to about 90 domestic and international destinations. BWI Marshall Airport generates a total economic impact of $11.3 billion annually. The airport and visitors produce and support more than 107,000 jobs throughout Maryland and the region.
