‘We’ll Take You There’ Campaign Wins Local, International Recognition

Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and its marketing partner, Weber Shandwick, have been presented several prominent awards for the 2019 marketing campaign, “We’ll Take You There,” which used a broad mix of strategies and creative asserts to drive awareness of BWI Marshall Airport and showcase its convenience, low fares and non-stop airline service.

BWI Marshall Airport and Weber Shandwick were recognized in 2020 with three notable honors for the “We’ll Take You There” campaign: an Emmy® Award from the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, an international Hermes Platinum Creative Award, and an American Advertising Federation Baltimore Chapter ADDY Gold Award. The high-energy advertisements showed eager travelers moving through the airport to the sounds of the classic Stapes Singers hit, “I’ll Take You There,” re-recorded with the campaign theme. BWI Marshall Airport’s “We’ll Take You There” campaign ran in spring and fall 2019 across three media markets — Washington, Baltimore and Philadelphia. The advertising campaign helped to solidify BWI Marshall’s position as the busiest airport in the Washington-Baltimore region.
