Enforcement of compliance with new federal security standards is underway.

Effective May 7, 2025, travelers 18 years of age or older must present a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or ID card, state-issued enhanced driver’s license or another TSA-acceptable form of identification at airport security checkpoints.
Passengers presenting a state-issued identification that is not REAL ID-compliant and who do not have another acceptable alternative (such as a U.S.-issued passport) can expect to face delays, additional screening and the possibility of not being permitted through the security checkpoint. This page of the TSA website provides a list of identification accepted at security checkpoints.
For more REAL ID information, visit the MVA website or TSA website.
