HarvellJohn Anthony Harvell is an accomplished management professional with expertise in the development and execution of strategic solutions to address critical business challenges. Currently, Mr. Harvell is serving as the Chief of Marketing and Air Service Development for Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA). He is an experienced program & project manager, organizational design architect, human capital, and marketing strategist with demonstrated success in leading organizations across a variety of industries including Higher-Education, Health Care, Non-Profit, Federal Government and Private Sectors.

Mr. Harvell has 20+ years of professional experience in various leadership roles at several Fortune 500 companies such as Anderson LLP, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Deloitte. Throughout his career he has nurtured cross-functional relationships and optimized delivery output through building, leading, and supporting teams and projects at various agencies including, but not limited to, the Department of Homeland Security/TSA, Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Veterans Administration and the HHS Food & Drug Administration. He is viewed as a trusted advisor, and holder of sensitive compartmentalized information among C-Suite executives.

One of the key attributes of Harvell’s career has been his reputation and ability to expand his administrative expertise, operational efficiencies, and capability of identifying cost saving measures valuing up to $20M across a diverse portfolio of large & small client business and projects. Through his pivotal past roles, as Director of Operations Performance, at Howard University; Founding President/CEO of Trilogy Management Group, LLC.(TMG), and Co-Founder of Eden Investment, LLC, Mr. Harvell has honed his leadership expertise and brought strategic change and cultural shifts to a variety of platforms, through a combination of growth tactics; Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Lean Six Sigma/Business Process Reengineering (BPR) methodologies, and Change/Risk Management best practices. Additionally, his overall profitability innovation strategies are evident through his ability to spearhead double-digit sales growth in the short period of 4 years via process automations, management realignment, and strategic insight resulting in a corporate net value exceeding $2M.

Within his current role at MAA, Mr. Harvell provides administrative support, policy guidance, and supervisory oversight to staff at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall (BWI) and Martin State Airports. He is directly responsible for the day-to-day supervision and support to Directors, regarding performance management, budgeting, sponsorships, contract administration personnel and project management. His division portfolio and areas of focus includes: Marketing, Air Service Development, Communications, Corporate and Community Relations, and Customer Experience.

While Mr. Harvell is a native of Dinwiddie, Virginia, he currently resides in the Washington, DC Metro area. He is a proud graduate of The University of Virginia and has completed secondary course work at Howard University School of Business. He enjoys volunteering, philanthropy work, and giving back to his community through various mentoring activities afforded to him through church, Boy Scouts of America (Eagle Scout), and his fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He also enjoys traveling both domestically and abroad during his free time.
