A/B Connector and Baggage Handling System Upgrade
The largest capital project in the history of BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport is underway.
The A/B Connector and Baggage Handling System is a large, multi-year project that will improve the passenger experience and provide updated facilities for Southwest Airlines, including an innovative baggage handling system. The $425 million program will improve the passenger experience and provide added capacity for Southwest Airlines to continue its growth. It is the largest terminal enhancement in the airport’s history.
The project will transform the customer experience by adding a direct connection between concourses, expanding airline holdrooms, creating new food and retail concession spaces, enhancing restrooms, and introducing a new, fully in-line baggage handling system for the airline.
