Southwest Airlines announced today that it will begin seasonal service between Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall) and Tucson International Airport. The daily nonstop service will begin February 12.
“We are pleased that Southwest will offer this service to Tucson, a new market for BWI Marshall,” said Paul J. Wiedefeld, Executive Director of BWI Marshall Airport. “Southern Arizona is a beautiful, vibrant region that offers visitors a rich history, beautiful scenery, outstanding recreation, and excellent shopping and museums.”
The new Southwest service announced today is the only nonstop airline service between the Washington-Baltimore region and Tucson.
“This new, wintertime nonstop option between Southern Arizona and our largest airport operation in the Northeast gives our Tucson customers many more options for one-stop and connecting service through Baltimore/Washington,” said Brad Hawkins, spokesman for Southwest Airlines.
Bookings for the new service are available now for the following flight schedule:
|BWI Marshall Arrival||BWI Marshall Departure|
|Weekdays||10:00 a.m.||8:10 p.m.|
|Saturday||7:30 a.m.||5:30 p.m.|
|Sunday||9:10 a.m.||7:20 p.m.|
Southwest Airlines is BWI Marshall’s largest airline, serving more than 55 percent of the Airport’s passenger traffic. For December 2011, Southwest offers nonstop service to 46 markets from BWI Marshall.
