Aviation.com Ranks BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport In Top 10 of the 'Easiest' Airports To Get To

BWI AIRPORT, MD (August 15, 2007) - Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport is showcased in a new list of the “Top Ten Easiest U.S. Airports To Get To” by Aviation.com. The website, created for business travelers, industry analysts, and aviation enthusiasts, ranked BWI Marshall the tenth easiest U.S. airport for access. Aviation.com says that BWI is among those airports that make it, “easy to skip cab lines, traffic, and high fares.” Transit access to and from BWI Marshall was highlighted in the website’s study. “Travel to Washington and Baltimore is available from Amtrak and MARC,” according to Aviation.com. “A light rail station provides additional access to Baltimore and the surrounding suburbs.” BWI Thurgood Marshall is one of the only U.S. airports to have an on-airport rail station. Beyond easy and efficient rail access to both Washington and Baltimore, the BWI Express / B-30 Metrobus is the direct link from Washington’s Metro system to BWI Marshall. This service runs every 40 minutes, seven days a week, between the Airport and the Metro’s Greenbelt station on the Green Line. “BWI Marshall works very hard to provide a pleasant and efficient travel experience for our customers,” said Timothy L. Campbell, A.A.E., Executive Director of the Maryland Aviation Administration. “Easy access to the Airport by roadway and transit is an important factor for our travelers. BWI has a longstanding reputation as the region’s ‘easy come, easy go’ airport.” The entire list is available at www.aviation.com.
