The Maryland Department of Transportation’s Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) will host a public workshop to provide information regarding the initiation of an Environmental Assessment (EA) for proposed future improvement projects at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. The public workshop is scheduled for Thursday, August 25 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the assembly room of the MAA offices located at 991 Corporate Blvd., Linthicum.
The scoping meeting will provide information to introduce the proposed improvements at BWI Marshall, describe the EA process, and show the current schedule. Representatives from the MAA and its project team will be available to answer questions from the public. Written comments from interested parties may be submitted during and after the public scoping meeting.
The MAA has identified the need for a number of improvement projects at BWI Marshall Airport between 2016 and 2020. The EA process will allow the MAA to provide sufficient information to the public and to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to support a formal environmental finding on the projects. The FAA determination is required before the planned improvement projects can take place.
