WOW air announced today that it would boost its schedule from Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport to daily service during the summer of 2016. The low-fare airline operates service between BWI Marshall and Reykjavik, Iceland, with easy connections available to other European markets.
“We are excited that WOW air will grow its service at BWI Marshall in 2016,” said Ricky Smith, CEO of BWI Marshall Airport. “WOW air offers low fares, great customer service, and more options for our travelers, including easy connections across Europe.”
WOW air is growing its international service at BWI Marshall for summer 2016 due to high demand for its flights to Iceland and beyond to other destinations in Europe. The innovative, low-fare airline started service at BWI Marshall in May 2015. Before its first flight, WOW air announced it planned to expand its service at BWI Marshall. During the peak travel period in 2015, WOW air operated five days per week from BWI Marshall.
At BWI Marshall, international air service continues to grow. International passenger traffic increased by 30.4 percent in 2015, through November. Construction work on the D/E Connector program continues. This multi-phase development will support additional international service, along with added passenger services.
