Starting on or about May 1st, construction activity at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall) will require the temporary closure of the corridor between the international terminal and the domestic terminal near Concourse D. The passageway will be closed on the upper, departures level of BWI Marshall, as well as the lower, arrivals level.
The preliminary schedule calls for the corridor to be closed until November 2015. During the construction work, all pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the covered outdoor sidewalk for access between the domestic and international terminals. An approximate 285 foot section of the interior terminal walkway will be closed for the construction.
The D/E Connector Program is a multi-phase development at BWI Marshall that will offer enhanced services for passengers and support further international growth. The project will: create a new security checkpoint to serve domestic and international travelers, construct a new secure connector between Concourse D and Concourse E, and configure airline gates to support additional international flights.
