Spirit Airlines today announced that it will begin offering daily nonstop service between Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport and two new markets—Hartsfied-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport. Spirit’s service to Atlanta will begin June 18, and the Los Angeles service will begin in July. The first Spirit arrival from Los Angeles will be on July 9, with the first departure set for July 10.
“Spirit Airlines continues to grow its service at BWI Marshall,” said Paul J. Wiedefeld, Chief Executive Officer for BWI Marshall. “We welcome these new flights, which will provide our customers with more low fares and more travel options.”
Atlanta and Los Angeles are the eighth and ninth destinations served by Spirit Airlines from BWI Marshall. The airline shifted its regional operation from Reagan National Airport to BWI Marshall in September 2012 with flights to two markets, Fort Lauderdale and Dallas/Fort Worth.
Spirit will fly one daily roundtrip flight between BWI Marshall and both Atlanta and Los Angeles. The airline offers ultra-low base airfares, with a number of optional, fee-based services.
