On Monday, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall) will host a special Iberia flight as the Spanish National Soccer Team travels to the United States to complete its preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament. Spain is the defending World Cup champion.
Iberia, the largest airline of Spain and the official airline of the Spanish national team, will fly the team from Madrid to BWI Marshall, arriving on the evening of June 2. Spain is scheduled to play a “Road to Brazil” match against El Salvador on June 7 at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland. Iberia will fly the Spanish national team on June 8 from BWI Marshall to Curitiba, Brazil for the World Cup opening ceremonies.
“The World Cup is an incredible global sports and cultural event,” said Paul J.
